All programs are held at Elwood Public Library unless otherwise noted. Registration is required for all programs unless otherwise noted and is on a first come, first served basis. Elwood residents may register online, in person at the Information Desk or call (631) 499-3722. In-person registration is required when a fee is involved. Priority is given to Elwood residents. Non-residents will be placed on a waiting list. Please let us know in advance if you require any special accommodations because of a disability.
Registration begins on Friday, February 3 at 10:00 AM unless otherwise noted.

Librarians are available for individual appointments to show you how to download ebooks from live-brary.com to your ereader. Please call the information desk at the library to schedule an appointment. Please register your device with their respective companies prior to the appointment. You will need your library card for the appointment. If you own a Kindle you will also need your amazon.com account username and password.

Join award winning artist and teacher, Emilia Rabito Baer for a multimedia presentation which highlights specific models that famous artists used to create their work. Some models were specifically chosen by the artist to convey messages and capture emotions that they wanted to express. Models used by Cassatt, Degas, Monet, Renoir, Manet, Picasso, Dali, and Frida (Kahlo) will be discussed.

This workshop will introduce the different aspects that need to be considered in developing a life care plan for achieving the best quality of life in every area for your child with special needs. The program will touch on topics including: Planning the transition through the school years and different schools; Preventing the loss of Government benefits; Supplemental needs trusts – how they work and why they’re useful; How to fund your child’s financial future during uncertain times; Guardianship – who will make the important decisions when the special needs child turns eighteen?; Preparing an effective “Letter of Intent” that spells out not only your hopes and dreams for your child, but their own unique needs and wishes.

AARP Driver Safety Course
Wednesday, March 14, 9:30 AM- 4:00 PM.
Check or money order payable to AARP required for registration. Please have your driver’s license and your AARP card with you on the day of the class. You may bring a snack or small lunch with you to enjoy during a 30 minute break. Although this course is geared to drivers age 50 and older, the course is open to people of all ages. You may be eligible to receive an insurance discount upon completing the course, so consult your agent for details. If you are younger than age 50 please check with your auto insurance company to ensure that they will accept this course for the discount prior to registering for the course.
